Fresh Press Article

A single-column, centred reading layout for editorial blog articles. The header area shows a breadcrumb trail, the article title at heading-xl, and a meta bar with estimated read time plus category and topic labels pulled automatically from article tags. Below that, the featured image renders edge-to-edge on mobile and constrained to 796px on desktop, followed by the article body in a rich text container.

Category and topic labels are resolved by scanning article tags for category_ and topic_ prefixes, then looking up the matching blog_category metaobject to get display-friendly labels. The read time is calculated at roughly 200 words per minute.

Setting What it does
Section ID Optional anchor for jump links. Must be unique on the page, in handle format.
Padding top / bottom (mobile) Default 32/52px.
Padding top / bottom (tablet) Default 48/72px.
Padding top / bottom (desktop) Default 64/100px.

There are no content settings — the section pulls everything from the article object and its tags/metafields automatically.

This section has no blocks. All content comes from the article itself.

The featured image is hidden in two situations: when the article’s nama.hide_featured_image metafield is set to true, or when the featured image filename appears to be duplicated inside the article body (detected by matching the first two segments of the filename). This prevents the same hero image from showing twice when it was already embedded during content migration.

When the article body contains elements with data-handle attributes, the section resolves those handles against the recipes blog and injects structured recipe content (title, description, yield, ingredients, directions) inline. This powers the “recipe embed” pattern used in Fresh Press articles that reference recipes from the recipe blog.

If the article body contains data-nama="shop-article" elements, the section emits a script block with product card data (description, alternate title, card image, Yotpo product ID) for each referenced product handle. This data is consumed by client-side JavaScript that renders shoppable product cards inline.

Fresh Press blog article template (article.fresh-press). Not used for recipes — those use the separate Recipe Article section.

  • Category and topic tags must match a blog_category metaobject. If a tag like category_wellness doesn’t have a corresponding metaobject entry, it won’t show in the meta bar. No error, just silence.
  • The featured image hide logic is fuzzy. It matches on the first two underscore-separated segments of the filename. Rename the featured image if it’s hiding unexpectedly, or use the metafield opt-out for explicit control.
  • Body content is rendered as-is. The section wraps it in an .rte container with text-body-md — all typographic styling comes from the global RTE styles.
  • There are no blocks to configure. If you need a title override or custom CTA, those belong in a separate section placed below this one in the template.
