Rich Text
The rich text block outputs a paragraph or set of paragraphs using Shopify’s richtext field, which supports bold, italic, links, and lists out of the box. Like the title block, it offers per-breakpoint typography sizing and alignment, making it the go-to block for body copy across the theme. Sections render it as a static block when the text needs to come from a metafield, or as a theme block when editors should be free to add and reorder content.

- The block hides itself automatically when the text field is empty, so you never get an empty wrapper in the markup.
- Sections can pass a
fallback_textparam when rendering this block statically – if the editor leaves the text blank, the fallback fills in instead. - Body Text “MD (16px)” is the default style. Bump it up to “XL” or “2XL” for intro paragraphs or pull quotes without needing a separate block type.
